Susan Davis-Swanson, MSW, LCSW, is the executive director and founder of The StepFamily Center in Beverly Hills, California. She is a noted authority on issues from divorce through remarriage with children.

 

Susan has been working with couples and remarried couples since 1994. She is a licensed therapist and has attained Board Certified Diplomate status in her field, awarded by the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work.

 

Susan has provided continuing education to therapists on the subject of stepfamilies and publishes her own quarterly newsletter. Her first radio show, “Susan Swanson on Step,” began in 2009, and she can now be heard weekly on “The Susan Swanson Show” on HealthyLife.net.

 

Susan is a frequent contributor to StepMom Magazine, on online e-magazine, and appears quarterly on their “Ask the Experts” forum. She has appeared as the stepfamily expert on “The Catherine Oxenberg Show” (pilot) and “Family Focus with Maureen Nunn” on the Cox Cable Network. She is one of the experts on Lifebites.com, contributing articles and appearing frequently on LifeBites Radio with host Nina Boski.

 

Susan has been quoted in The New York Times and has appeared on several radio shows, including The Joe Bruzzesse Show, The Giselle Thomas Show, and Stepmom’s Toolbox. She has presented to major corporations and, in 2010, she received Cambridge’s distinguished “Outstanding VIP of the Year” award.

 

In addition to her work with stepfamilies, Susan has been a trauma therapist since 1998 and is experienced in the use of EMDR and Somatic Experiencing.
